Thimyul Phendhey Tshogpa (TPT) was established in 2016 by group interested fellow countrymen from Thimjong village with the intention of strengthening the social integrity and community vitality by engaging themselves through volunteer services to needy people and disadvantaged families.
The group functions under the Charter of TPT 2016, drafted and endorsed in Virtual General Convention organized in the same year participated by more than 200 aspiring members from across the country.
During the Convention, it was observed that the community not only desire to form such group but also seen with great scope to reap benefits out of it. Founding such forum would bring individuals back to dynamism after social disintegration caused by the advent of modern developments which made people to focus heavily on mundane activities that lead them to ignore the hardships confronted by neighbors or in the communities. Our age old tradition of serving each other through physical, monetary and in matters are being degraded. People have begun to lean more towards individualism and had become more selfish, rather than mutually interlacing to each other. Therefore, this group promotes friendships, understanding, unity, trusts and social bonding within the community by involving themselves in times of bereavement, festivals, ceremonies and other similar important occasions. It is also intended to promote Gross National Happiness not undermining the national integrity and policies of the Kingdom of Bhutan but to promote social cohesion and community development through various community based participations. The group is governed by the Executive Committees formed as per the Charter and all services rendered by the Executive members are purely voluntary. Till date the members registered in the group have experienced tremendous benefits including receiving expenditures to travel ex-country for treatment referred to neighboring country by the National Referral Hospital apart from monetary help given to the affected families through various schemes in times of death. The funds for TPT is mainly raised through membership fees and donations made by the registered members and other generous contributors. TRASHI DELEK!
